a unique catalogue for unique history

An inventory catalogue for a large number of additions to Division Leap’s counter culture archive. The turn around on this very photo heavy project was two short weeks from first meeting to print run. Adam Davis (owner of Division Leap) and I worked together to find a good design direction early on, so I could spend most of our time staging and taking photographs of every item in the catalogue. Both in consideration of the deadline and the raw quality of many of the pieces available, we made the decision to showcase everything on a well lit old wood table top, allowing the wood backdrop to persist throughout the catalogue. Many of the catalogues in the space tended to photograph things in light boxes and exclude a backdrop all together, so this was a conscious choice both to make the work load easier and do something different. Despite the short deadline, the final product was a profound success and aesthetically influenced the design of other archive catalogues in the space moving forward.
