Xbox Advertising
UI + Design
For two years, I was part of a small team that manages and designs advertising experiences exclusively on Xbox game consoles. These were almost always a smaller components of larger client campaigns, and frequently in multiple regions and languages. All of our campaigns were interactive and controlled directly with the Xbox controller, which made this a stand out UI challenge in our modern ecosystem of homogenized touch screens.
I handled brands of all scale and nature, from the latest big budget AAA video game releases to a regional UK bank chain. The work flow was fast paced and required the managing of multiple campaigns at once, often times in multiple regions and languages. Clients typically came to us with pre-existing campaign assets, which we would use to create bespoke advertising as an extension of their larger marketing presence, to target Xbox owning demographics.
My responsibility was taking these existing campaign assets and designing memorable interactive landing experiences. We always worked to integrate as tightly as possible with existing campaigns and branding, but the unique challenge and venue provided by a controller-based 16x9 TV screen presentation meant that there was always a chance to challenge myself and create something fun and memorable. My work frequently received recognition both from management and our clients.
